The week ahead

Since I left my role at Heanor, I’ve found that choosing a game to watch has become one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

On Saturday 28th October I could have gone to any one of FIFTEEN games I’d shortlisted from the hundreds and hundreds of options around the Midlands and Yorkshire. I think I chose well, Lenny the Lion’s flatulence being the only down side to a trip with Heanor.

I have a weird situation where my new shift patterns mean I finish work at 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 7pm then 8pm on a four week rolling pattern. This means that for 3 weeks out of four I can watch midweek football, one of those weeks will no doubt be a club with a NG or DE postcode as it has to be within half an hour of Nottingham city centre.

This week has a selection of games that fit that criteria.

Tuesday

Long Eaton Utd v Hilton Harriers

Mickleover Sports v Whitby Town
Clifton AW v Barrow Town
Gedling SB v Awsworth Villa
Kimberley MW AFC v Sandiacre Town
Wednesday
South Normanton Athletic v Rocester FC
Kimberley MW v Selston FC
Eastwood CFC v Aslockton & Orston
Hucknall Town v Sherwood Colliery
Mansfield Town U19 West Bridgford Colts U19
Friday
Borrowash Victoria v Belper Utd
Holbrook Sports v Teversal FC
Lincoln Moorlands Railway v Newark Town
FBT Int Academy U21 v Kimberley MW U21
The only game I am guaranteed to make this week is Lincoln Moorlands Railway v Newark Town – I will be on ‘league duty’ – I finish work at 7pm, google maps claims I will make it to the ground at 7.44pm – those 60 seconds I have spare will be vital!
